There are many site promotion strategies out there. However, some are great while most are simply either a waste of your time and/or money or do not give you the best return on your investment. So, what are the marks of a great site promotion strategy?
1) Any site promotion strategy that gives you high quality traffic that converts to cash. This is the bottom line for every business. If it does not result in profits, then it's a bad strategy. What's the whole point of getting traffic that does not convert to sales?
2) A good site promotion strategy must be able to give you massive traffic if you take massive action. If a traffic strategy is only capable of giving you little streams of traffic, I think you are better off leaving it. This is unless it cost you very little in time and money.
3) A good mark of a great site promotion is that it is residual. You work once and keep getting results for months and even years without further input.
No matter how easy a strategy is, it is not the best use of your time if you have to take a physical action each time for you to get traffic.
4) A good traffic strategy is one that will last -- Not a fad. If you know of tricks that will give you traffic for a short period only, then you only have a strategy that will make you money for only a short period.
5) A good traffic strategy must leverage other people's time. The more of their time it leverages, the better it is for you. You only have 24 hours a day and so any help from others is very welcome.
6) A good site traffic strategy must be ethical and not make you risk having problems with the authorities. If it sends oodles of traffic but is illegal, then it is certainly not a great strategy for building your website's traffic.
